The Wow Factor

Jul 29, 2020

Dr. Steve Hotchkiss, Owner and Chief Vision Officer at The PARC Veterinary Hospital, was initially accepted into both medical and veterinary school before he realized that he could help both people and animals as a veterinarian. The philosophy that people feel better when their pets feel better fueled Dr. Hotchkiss’ longtime dream to open a veterinary facility focused on People, Animals, and Revolutionary Care, and in 2018 he opened The PARC. Dr. Hotchkiss is also a fellow and an adjunct professor at the Townsend Institute for Leadership & Counseling at Concordia University Irvine, where he teaches a graduate-level class in organizational leadership.

Steve joins me today to share how he inherited the entrepreneurial spirit from his father, but why he pursued his interest in veterinary science after his first year at college, rather than go into the family accounting business. He discusses how he built his veterinary business and went from working solo as the jack of all trades, to employing a team to help him scale the business that encompasses his values and beliefs. Steve also discusses how our relationship with animals has evolved over time and why they occupy such an important space in our lives and provide support in good times and bad.

“As business leaders, we can make a difference not only in the lives of our clients but in the lives of our staff” - Dr. Steve Hotchkiss

Steve Hotchkiss’ Words of Wisdom:
